Mariah Roley ’17 on Speech-Language Pathology
Speech-Language Pathology is a great career path for English majors. Mariah Roley graduated from ڹϳ in 2017 and after completing higher education at Pacific University, she now works as a speech pathologist in Colorado.

What began as a partnership among ڹϳ and community organizations to see Indigenous Peoples’ Day instituted at ڹϳ and in the City of Ashland a number of years ago has continued to evolve into further advocacy for Native people.
After a two-year pandemic delay, ڹϳ has launched its innovative, new, 12-credit spring immersion course called “The Crew Experience.” Student filmmakers spend an entire term learning on location, collaborating under the supervision of faculty and experienced industry mentors on the set of a significant film project designed to emulate the professional working environment.
ڹϳ has been awarded a nearly $1 million from the NSF to help K-5 teachers develop “computational thinking” skills in the Ashland-area school district

In the beginning of spring term 2022, the ڹϳ English Program hosted an informational Grad and Law School Panel for students. All four of the panelists are ڹϳ English alumni who are furthering their education while utilizing their English degree: Jenean Mcgee (’15), Alexis Brooks (’18), Logan Brooks (’18), and Samara Diab (’19).
Melody Condon graduated from ڹϳ in 2012 with her BA in English with a Professional Writing focus. Now, she works for AHA Strategy and Creative Agency as a content strategist. Melody’s diverse skill sets have allowed her to expand her opportunities within her past and current positions.
